7:15 AM – MORNING MARKET UPDATE & WATCH LIST

After being down as much as -258 yesterday, the Dow closed -140 points, while the S&P 500 gave up -9, and the Nasdaq shed -12 points.

October was a positive month for stocks, with the S&P 500 notching a record close on Wednesday. The Dow hung on for just a +0.5% monthly gain, while the S&P had a +2% advance and the Nasdaq rose by +3.7%.

Today, trading will likely be guided by earnings, the outlook for U.S. and China trade negotiations, and the employment report.

For earnings announcements, we have BABA, XOM, CVX, AIG, CL, RUTH, IPB reporting before the bell.

For economic releases, we have the ISM manufacturing index and the unemployment rate for October.
