[dropcap]Y[/dropcap]esterday, the Dow closed up +0.8%, logging its third consecutive day of gains. The S&P 500 also ended up the day +0.8%, as the Nasdaq gained +0.6%.
QUOTE OF THE DAY:
“If D-Day – the greatest amphibious operation ever undertaken – failed, there would be no going back to the drawing board for the Allies. Regrouping and attempting another massive invasion of German-occupied France even a few months later in 1944 wasn’t an option.”
– Douglas Brinkley
This morning, European markets opened higher after a mixed session for stocks in Asia. Britain’s FTSE 100 rose +0.6%, while Germany’s DAX index gaining +0.5%.
In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng rose +0.2%, while Japan’s Nikkei closed flat. The Shanghai Composite, however, dropped -1.2%.
Today, the ECB and Reserve Bank of India have rate decisions scheduled.
We also have Europe’s GDP growth estimate and Beyond Meat earnings.
We are watching for a “follow-through day” to officially put the market back into a confirmed uptrend.
